SAT Reasoning Test:

SAT’s are one of the most important tests that a student will take in his/her academic career. The performance on this test is essential in gaining admission to prestigious colleges and universities. Below are overall areas Premier Academy focuses on for each section of the SATs.

Critical Reading:

ACT Test


The ACT is a standardized exam that was introduced as an alternative to the SAT. The ACT consists of four areas: English, Math, Reading and Science. There is also an optional Writing portion of the exam, which consists of a 30 minute essay. Some schools may require the writing portion of the ACT, so check with the colleges themselves to be certain.

Our ACT tutors offer effective and motivational studying techniques. With private one-on-one ACT tutoring, our students gain an advantage that they otherwise would not receive in a more traditional setting.

Our ACT prep course includes a diagnostic test, practice tests and vocabulary. As the ACT is administered six times a year, our ACT tutors are prepared year round to provide students with effective one-on-one ACT tutoring.

SAT Subject Tests

Literature, Math (Level 1 & 2), Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and History

SAT II subjects consist of English, History, Mathematics, Science and Foreign Languages.
Our SAT II tutors offer effective studying techniques for all five areas in the following ways:

  • In-class review of practice test along with guided practice

Advanced Placement (AP) Tests

Calculus AB/BC, Chemistry, Physics B/C, Biology, US History, and World History

AP Tests cover a wide range of subjects including, math, science, English, art, music, language, economics, history, and politics. Taking AP courses shows academic vigor and ability to tackle demanding material because good performances in AP courses indicate high potential for scholastic achievement at a college level. In addition, more than 1,400 colleges and universities accept AP credit. Achieving high scores on AP exams may earn students college credit for class exemption or acceleration, helping students save tuition and money.

At Premier Academy, students tackle numerous AP practice questions designed to help master course content. Our tutors will also show how to succeed in AP classes amidst all the other demands including extracurricular activities and sports. All of our tutors undergo rigorous training and have a proven record of achieving excellent results.


Test of English as a Foreign Language

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a test for non-native English speakers to evaluate and access their ability to use and understand English in an academic setting. It is an admission requirement at most English speaking colleges and universities. Additionally, institutions such as government agencies, licensing bodies, businesses, or scholarship programs may require this test. The test consists of four different sections: reading, listening, speaking and writing. Familiarly, practice and important test tips are essential in preparing and succeeding.

Our TOEFL instructors have years of experience in preparing students for the TOEFL exam. Our TOEFL program focuses on the academic skills students will need to pass the exam by intensively preparing on all sections of the test through the usage of several resources.


SSAT: Secondary School Admission Test

The SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test) is administered to students grades 5-11 to determine placement into private or independent junior high and high schools. SSAT test prep is offered year round so that students can begin preparation at any time of the year. There are two parts in the test: a short essay and a multiple choice skill test examining student’s knowledge and skills in math, use of language and reading comprehension.

There are two levels in this test:

  • Lower Level (for Applicants to Grades 5-7)
  • Upper Level (for Applicants to Grades 8-11)
ISEE: Independent School Entrance Exam

The ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam) is the admission test for grades five through twelve consisting of standardized verbal and quantitative reasoning tests, mathematics achievement tests and a times essay.

There are three levels in this test:

  • Lower Level (Applicants to Grades 5 & 6)
  • Middle Level (Applicants to Grades 7 & 8)
  • Upper Level (Applicants to Grades 9 -12)

Our SSAT/ ISEE prep course includes a user-friendly course book and specifically designed for one-on-one instruction, diagnostic test, practice tests, vocabulary, and math. Premier Academy offers the tutoring at all times during the year and our tutors keep their schedules flexible to cater to students’ needs.


NJ Assessment for Grades 2 – 8 in Math, Reading, and Writing

The New Jersey Assessment of Skill and Knowledge (NJASK) is a comprehensive multi-grade assessment program for grades 3-8.

The results of the elementary-level assessments are used to identify students who need additional instructional support order to teach the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards (CCCS).


High School Proficiency Assessment in reading, writing, and math according to NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards
This proficiency assessment is used to measure student achievement in reading, writing and mathematics as specified in the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards (CCCS).
